[Longplay, No Commentary] MechWarrior (DOS, 1989) Full Play-through
MechWarrior is an adventure-simulation game based on the BattleTech franchise. It was released in 1989 for DOS. It was the first in the franchise to offer the player a chance to pilot a mech from the view of a MechWarrior. In this game, you are an exiled MechWarrior on your journey of revenge to reclaim your rightful throne of your planet within 5 years.
The game seemed to offer you the freedom to play it anyway you like. However, you must play in a very specific way to win the adventure story part. A lot of reading is necessary to progress, even more so if you are interested in the whole BattleTech lore. The AI is, to put it nicely, "adequate" for its time. You can easily beat anyone using a Locust in most defensive missions, but good luck doing that in offensive missions.
The game has audio in only 5 occasions: Intro, Bar, Battle, Victory, Ending, and Death / Game Over. I have made and added custom BGM to hopefully improve the viewing experience. I'm no musician, the last time I did any basic music theory was like 2 decades ago, so transcribing music into MIDI is a difficult task for me. Please don't be too harsh on me =X
On the other hand, you may try to guess from which game OSTs did I get "inspirations" from (no gifts for correct guesses ;p).
Leave a rating and subscribe if you like for more videos in the future. Thanks for watching!
