the speaker is a popular editorial cartoonist in Nigeria, he outlined how they are influencing activities in the society. Mustapha Bulama is a self-taught cartoonist and illustrator. He specializes in political cartoons and children's book Illustration.
He joined Daily Trust Newspaper as a comic strip artist in 2000 and ventured into political cartoons in 2008. His cartoons and illustrations are currently published in the Saturday and Sunday editions of Daily Trust newspapers. He draws his inspirations from the works of many artists, his favourites being Albert Uderzo, Zapiro, Jason Seiler and Xose Tomas.
He has illustrated over twenty children’s’ books for different publishers since 2008, including the Moonbeam Award winning Zahra and Coco Alphabets, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, The Empty Calabash published by National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other related Matters (NAPTIP) and Buhari of the People a children's biography of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Other prominent works illustrated by Bulama include story books on Millennium Development Goals published by Cassava Republic and eight pupils’ books of the Mu Karanta Hausa Series published by Creative Associates International in conjunction with USAID.
He has won numerous local and international awards in Editorial Cartooning, story-writing and illustration.
Bulama’s Cartoons covers various aspects which include Politics, Security, Economy, and other social life. He is passionate about good governance, social justice and anti-corruption.
Mustapha holds a B.Sc in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and he is married with three children. He lives in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
