I decided to compare the energy in sugar with the energy in artificial sweeter packets. A packet of Splenda actually has 3 calories, but in the USA if something has less than 5 calories it is rounded to zero. The calories in splenda come from the filler which is dextrose (AKA sugar). You ca nmake rocket fuel from it because splenda is 99% sugar. The reason it works is because the splenda sweetener is 100x sweeter than sugar so even though it has 3 calories, the equivalent "sweetness" from cane sugar is about 30 calories.
