Thank you for reaching out and watching this video.

I imagined this project 7th May 2020. I’ll never forget how I was suddenly out of work about that time because of this horrible virus. Not only me, lots of people all over the world stopped working and had to stay home to avoid infection. In the end, even the Tokyo Olympics were postponed. People all over the world seemed to be disappointed.

I felt powerless. I felt the same thing as I did when during the great 3.11 earthquake in Eastern Japan. I knew that I couldn’t do a lot, but I tried to find something that can encourage as many people as possible, and I thought of this project. If I play “It’s a small world” with musicians all over the world, it might be able to make people feel “Wow, I’m connected to the world even though I’m in my room!!”

I really appreciate everyone taking part in this project and applaud their great performances. I might be the one who was most encouraged by this project, because I could feel tenderness and kindness from every player who participated, and I myself felt like “I’m connecting to the world from my room!!”

Now it is still prohibited to go outside, and we can’t even hold hands with our friends. But we can connect our hearts from own rooms. My heart will always be within your heart’s reach, because, you know, “It’s a small world”.
