"Summer" is one of the four violin concertos that make up Antonio Vivaldi's famous composition "The Four Seasons." Composed around 1720 as part of a larger work called "Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione" (The Contest between Harmony and Invention), this concerto is known as "La Estate" or "Summer." Each of "The Four Seasons" concertos is designed to depict a season of the year, and "Summer" vividly portrays the intensity and drama of the warmest season.
