Ivan Savchuk, Evgeny Belyaev, Ivan Bukreev: Close to the Garden

Three fine tenor soloists of the Alexandrov Ensemble in a vocal dispute about which one of them is the favourite of a particular girl. The first voice is that of Ivan Savchuk, who sang with the Ensemble throughout the 1950s; the second is very distinctive - the great lyric tenor Evgeny Belyaev. Finally they are joined by the dramatic tenor Ivan Bukreev, another fine and very individual singer. This is a very early recording of Belyaev and Bukreev, dating from about 1956, and the only one that I know of in which they sing with each other.
