"Cavalleria Rusticana" Selections Arranged and Played by Robert Armbruster
Reposted November 2012 with better audio. Robert Armbruster was a noted American pianist and conductor, who recorded many piano rolls for the Aeolian Duo-Art system. Here he performs his arrangement of selections from Pietro Mascagni's famous opera "Cavalleria Rusticana." The selections are: 1) Siciliana, 2 Intermezzo, 3) Alfio's Song, 4) Easter Hymn, 5) Brindisi, 6) Duet, Turiddu and Santuzza. This performance was recorded on Duo-Art roll #67359 in March of 1924, and is heard here on a restored mahogany Steinway model XR Duo-Art built in 1920.
