The way life and love are portrayed to us via the world of advertising and Hollywood dream factories, you’d have thought that there’s no grey area between happy and troubled relationships. The truth, however, is that how we get along with each other is a complex, multi-dimensional thing that is likely to be impacted by anxious thoughts or phobias as any other aspect of life. In fact, most people encounter anxiety at some point in their lives, but for some, it can be a crippling condition. Olivia Remes teaches us about the ways to overcome anxiety, and the importance of learning to treat ourselves as someone we love. Olivia completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on anxiety disorders and is using the European Prospective Investigation of Cancer study, one of the largest, European cohort studies looking at chronic diseases, mental health, and the way people live their lives. Her research has been featured by the BBC, Forbes magazine, and USA Today, and she has appeared on several radio shows and podcasts talking about anxiety and the impact that it can have on people’s lives. Olivia is the creator and host of The Cambridge Talk Show, a weekly radio show focusing on lifestyle matters and mental health.
