Ecballium elaterium is related to cucumber. But the way it disperse its seeds is nowhere near how cucumber does. With enough pressure built up in its fruit, each individual fruit can explode like a rocket being launched, and at the same time, dispersing its seeds. This is the reason why it is also called the squirting cucumber. The further these seeds reach, the better. To avoid competition when they germinate.
