Micro E Mini Futures Contracts. What are Micro E-Mini Futures? What are they all about - what about the advantages and disadvantages of using them? This can be a game-changer for currency traders out there. In May 2019 4 new editions of micro e-mini contracts were launched on the CME. Generally, e-minis are the way that people get exposure via futures to the indices. Traditionally the most common contract is going to be the S&P 500 also known as the ES. The Micro E Mini is is the MES

Micros are a tenth of the size; they take the standarised e-mini tick size and compute a tenth of that.

S&P 500 ES / MES
Nasdaq 100 NQ / MNQ
Russell 2000 RTY / M2K
Dow Jones 30 YM / MYM

In Europe we always had access to smaller products via a CFD but for people located in the USA didn't have access to this. The biggest advantage is of course that you can trade in smaller size. You also have a scaling advantage. The downside is that your costs to trade those are a little more.
