The Bombers OBLITERATE the Rays in game one to take a 1-0 series lead! WHAT A GAME!

The Yankees got on the board early thanks to an Aaron Hicks sac fly in the first — giving them a 1-0 lead. Cole, however, would give the lead right back as he allowed a solo shot to Randy Arozarena to knot it up.

Then in the third, in his first game starting, Clint Frazier crushed an absolute NUKE to give the Bombers the lead right back — although it wouldn’t last long as Ji-Man Choi continued his dominance of Gerrit Cole, launching a two-run blast to make it 3-2 in the fourth.

Afterward, in the very next inning, Kyle Higashioka would tie it up with a home run of his own, setting up Aaron Judge to come up big — which is exactly what he did. On a first pitch breaking ball from Blake Snell, Judge RIPPED an absolute missile to put the Yankees in front. He is now tied with Lou Gehrig for the most home runs through 30 postseason games in Yankees’ HISTORY with 10. He’s simply been incredible during the month of October throughout his career.

Entering the ninth with a slim 4-3 lead, the Yankees would break it open with some MUCH needed insurance runs starting out with an RBI single off the bat of Aaron Hicks which would soon be followed by a GRAND SLAM courtesy of Giancarlo Stanton. What a postseason this man has had WOW.

Cole would leave the game after six, finishing with a final line of: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 8 K’s before turning it over to the bullpen who would finish the job.

FINAL SCORE: NYY 9 TB 3

What a game! Game two will take place tomorrow night at the same time, same place. The 21-year-old Deivi Garcia will make his first ever postseason debut. First pitch is at 8:10 PM EST. LET’S GO YANKEES!
