Sukhoi Su-57, 5th-Generation Stealth Fighter Tests of GSH-301 Integrated Cannon. An Su-57 aircraft, not yet painted, used for for testing, can be seen firing the new and improved 30 mm canon GSh-30-1 also known as 9-A-4071k. The gun is hidden in the front-right side of the plane and can carry up to 150 projectiles. The improvements made to the gun are not yet public but what we know is that the gun weighs 110 kg and has a fire rate of 1500 RPM.Russia, unlike the USA has continued arming the majority of it's aircraft with higher caliber guns.The American guns have a higher rate of fire but a lower caliber. For instance, the M61 Vulcan of 20mm that has a faster fire rate and is used on most American hunter airplanes.
When not used, the gun remains inside the airplane which makes it easier to mask it's radar signature.
Having been previously tested with a range of different air-to-air short and long range rockets, it's time that Russian Armed Forces showcase the tests made with the 30 mm gun, gSh-30-1 that remains an important part of the Su-57 aircraft.The date and location of the tests are unknown, the 8-second video having recently appeared on the Russian social media "Telegram" before being posted on YouTube.
