The value of the Russian rouble is plummeting as sanctions against the Kremlin over the war in Ukraine begin to bite and in Russian cities many ordinary citizens are fearing the worst for the country's economic future. "I think that we will go back into the stone age," says Adrey Kudryashov, a painter from Saint Petersburg. "If those leaders don't manage to agree, then it will be game over."
