Kenyon College: Introducing the Lowry Center
Kenyon's Board of Trustees has voted to rename Kenyon's athletic facility in honor of William E. "Bill" Lowry Jr. '56 H'99. Lowry was the fifth Black student to graduate from Kenyon, served as president of the student body, and captained the football, basketball and baseball teams. He went on to a career of civic engagement in his hometown of Chicago, but has remained a Kenyon volunteer throughout, including more than three decades on the Board.
