The History of Punt (Somalia,Ta Nejter and Ancient Egypt)
The History of Punt Somalia,Ta Nejter and Ancient Egypt. This documentary of Ancient Punt explores the study of ancient Egypt's trade, cultural, religious and political ties to the region of Punt, often identified as a region in Somalia. The History of Egypt and the History of Somalia have been said to tie back to the legacy of this mysterious region.
For several millennia the ancient Egyptian civilisation has had interactions and exchange with the land and people of Punt ranging from trade relations to religious affiliation.
With so many artifacts and evidences detailing the journeys to Punt still visible in some of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks, historians are still unable to find clear evidence as to where the land of Punt was situated and how the Egyptians navigated their way there.
Throughout Egypt’s ling history and dynastic reign there have been several notable rulers who had commissioned trips to Punt but none was as successful and celebrated as that trip commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut’s amazing journey to the land of Ta Nejter (Punt), which was also referred to as the land of god.
Ancient Histories of Modern Muslim Nations is a series on ILM FILM exploring and analysing the legacies and histories of ancient civilisations and peoples who were mentioned in the Quran and are the ancient predecessors to modern Islamic societies.
