This is the fourth generation electric Smart that is for sale since August 2017. The new electric Smart is available as fortwo (2 seats), forfour (4 seats) and fortwo cabrio. The car in this video is the fortwo cabrio.

The car is rear wheel drive and powered by an electric motor from the Renault ZOE. It was slightly modified and in this setup it offers 81 hp and 160 Nm of torque.

The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 11,8 seconds. On paper, it seems slow, but the car is really quick at lower speeds, between 0 and 50. Top speed is 130 km/h.

The 17,6 kWh lithium-ion battery gives this car am official range of 160 km (NEDC). In reality it's closer to 120 km.

Charging the car from an household plug takes about 8 hours. With the optional 22 kW charger, it takes just 45 minutes at most public charging stations.

In Belgium, the electric smart costs at least 23.466€. The price of this cabrio version is 25.869€.
