Jogger detained by SAPD speaks about arrest and stay in jail for the first time

Mathias Ometu spoke for the first time since video of police arresting him went viral, saying that he was violated and harmed physically, emotionally and mentally.

Ometu says he didn't know because he couldn't contact an attorney or family member for two days. He said he was denied water, food, and a shower, and witnessed an employee in the Bexar County jail throw an inmate face-first into the concrete floor.
