New HDMI cable and you still cannot watch a movie on your smartphone without a disconnection. This can be so frustrating as you will get a message saying "HDMI cable disconnected" and the screen on the monitor or TV will go blank and then you will get a message sating "HDMI cable connected" and the picture will come back again, it is intermittent and you know it is not the monitor or the cable as you have tried others, it is a setting in your phone which needs to be addressed for you to have interruption free viewing.

Note: you will not be connected to the internet so make sure you have content on your phone to watch. The problem is due to a weak wifi signal so another solution is to get better reception
