R-Type Final - Ship Showcase - Stage 4.0 with Ragnarok II - R-Typer Difficulty

This is stage 4.0 - Deserted Lab - with the Ragnarok II on R-Typer difficulty. Played on Score Attack.

About this ship:
This is the third variation of the ship from R-Type III: The Third Lightning, and the most dreaded of them all. The red weapon fires off giant arrowhead shaped blasts that fly straight ahead and are quite powerful. The blue laser is my favorite of the three, and fires five blasts at various angles when fully powered that also do splash damage when making contact with enemies. The yellow weapon leaves a mark in the air which fires horizontal yellow bullets, kind of like a turret. The Cyclone Force does not fire when detached, but at full power, it becomes quite large, and spins like its namesake. The Force damage is very powerful. You can also cancel the Force recall, sending it back and forth, and basically using it like a gigantic floating shield. This is the only Force in the game with this property, making it very versatile and tactical when used right. The Giga Wave Cannon is a seven loop charge - that's right. Seven loops. At level two it fires like the Mega Wave Cannon, which penetrates objects, enemies, and the environment. Most enemies and bosses will die in one hit from a level two blast. At level seven, nothing will survive, and the blast fills most of the screen. Obviously it takes a long time to charge it that high.

Pros:
+ Red and blue weapons are both powerful. Blue does splash damage on contact with enemies and the environment, giving you a great degree of coverage.
+ Cyclone Force does a huge amount of Force damage when it is touching enemies.
+ Force recall can be cancelled, allowing you to push and pull the Force as many times as you want, thereby giving you a giant, floating shield.
+ Most enemies can't survive two loops of the wave cannon and this one charges up seven times. At any loop from two to seven, it penetrates all solid objects.

Cons:
- Oddly enough, this ship can be too powerful for some of the things you might be doing.
- Yellow weapon takes a bit of tactical usage. Blue and red are usually better.
- Wave cannon takes a long time to charge completely, so if you were thinking you'd go in and blow everything away with it, think again. Not really a con, more of a heads up.

Ships in this series:
Strike Bomber, Ragnarok, Ragnarok II

About the boss:
Dobkeratops is the first boss from the original R-Type. Its gotten quite the upgrade in badassery in R-Type Delta and Final, as if Irem decided one of its most well known enemies couldn't go down as easily as it did in the first game. In Delta, it keeps you close by wrapping its tail behind you and firing bullets that the Force will not absorb, so care must be taken in dodging. The second form spits out rings that surround your ship and fire bullets everywhere. I could never survive unless I killed the second form with the Delta weapon.

In R-Type Final, Dobkeratops is massive. Fortunately you can absorb its projectiles with the Force. Once you kill the top half and avoid getting crushed when it falls, the heart reacts like Bellmite, the stage five boss from R-Type. It launches off projectiles at you while you're forced to move around the arena, dodging. On Bydo and R-Typer difficulty, the section of heart move too fast for me to consistently dodge, because the battlefield feels too small for me to accurately move around. I'm a human being and I lack those kind of reflexes. I play on a PS2, so it's not tool assisted either. The only way I could ever do this on the higher two difficulties were with ships that had one hit kill wave cannons.
