NORTHSEAKAYAK - Rescue Training Dredger RIO chapter 2

Less than a week after the previous rescue training with dredger RIO and its enthusiast crew, we had the pleasure of another encounter with that impressive ship. We had some unfinished business and conducted another rescue scenario, this time; solo paddler with loss of kayak after a capsize. Conditions were perfect and glassy (and rare on the North Sea). This time we wanted to see how manoeuvrable such a ship is, and how close it can come to rescue a swimmer without deploying their rescue boat. Seems the crew managed this scenario flawless. For us also a good exercise to remain calm when a ship the size of a building comes alongside for extraction.
