After the Ambulance Pulls Away:A True Story of Attempting to Save a Life | Ryan Howell | TEDxUTulsa

Ryan Howell attempted to save the life of a stranger but wasn’t prepared for what happened after the ambulance took the stranger away.
Ryan Howell is not a medical professional. He spent 10 years as an archaeologist and the
last 5 years as a festival planner for Tulsa, helping to manage such icons as Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa,Folds of Honor FreedomFest, and many more. Through his varied career, he has been
trained and kept current in CPR, never thinking he would have to use it. Until one day, he
did. In his spare time, he is a storyteller. Ryan Howell was named Best Storyteller in Tulsa
2015 and host of the Story Club Tulsa podcast and live show. Ryan has been featured in storytelling festivals aroundOklahoma, at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and NPR’s Tales from the South. During
COVID lockdown in 2020, Ryan was named by Newsweek Magazine as a “Hero of the
Pandemic” for sneaking around Turkey Mountain in a Bigfoot costume to promote social
distancing. Yep, that was him. All of the stories he tells are true. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
