My halloween top 5 of my favorite horror themes for piano. It's very hard or actually impossible to get a top 5 that you are 100% happy with. There are so many great horror themes and also iconic horror villians. I totally understand that a lot of people are not with me on this top 5 but this is just my personal taste. For instance, I have rarely seen a piano cover of Hellraiser. The Hellraiser soundtrack is absolutely amazing by Christopher Young. Very underrated in my opinion. Also pinhead is very iconic. More iconic than Michael Myers I think (yes I know a very unpopular opinion). The pennywise theme also disturbs and scares me. One of the scariest movies of all time. That clown 🤡 gave me some nightmares when I was young 🎈(I am talking about the 1991 movie!)
The Freddy Krueger theme is one of my favorites as well. The lullaby scared me a lot when I was a young boy and Freddy Krueger is probably the most iconic horror villian in my opinion.
Of course the Michael Myers Theme from the movie Halloween 1978 could not be absent. Composed by John Carpenter. A true classic horror theme for solo piano. A great theme with another iconic horror villian Michael Myers.
My personal favorite theme is Candyman composed by Philip Glass. This is because I love the theme and the Candyman is probably the best horror movie I am familair with.
