PulpCure! A new way to wet cure concrete
Wet curing concrete can be time consuming and expensive but it is widely recognized as the best curing method. This video discusses a new way to wet cure concrete that uses recycled newspaper, water, and different chemicals to make a spray on material that can hold moisture on the surface of concrete. We call this material PulpCure. PulpCure has been used to successfully cure three bridges in Oklahoma and a number of test slabs. The material is environmentally friendly, requires less labor and cost than traditional wet curing, and can hold moisture on the surface of concrete when used with plastic. The video shows pictures from mixing and field usage, describes how construction procedures can be adjusted and then talks about the future of PulpCure and ongoing research at Oklahoma State University.
