Modified Sun Salute From EveryBody Yoga by Jessamyn Stanley

This is Surya Namaskara A (Sun Salute A) w/ my preferred modifications- it's the sun salute we practice at the start of each EveryBody Yoga Level One class, and using blocks under the hands can be very helpful when transitioning from forward fold and downward-facing dog to low lunge. I also added a child's pose before downdog- it's my favorite pit stop on the way to a downdog hold.

This video shows one rep w/ blocks and one w/o- if you're having difficulty with these transitions, make a point to work on sun salute A on your rest day(s). There's no substitution for repetition when it comes to sun salutes- the more you do them, the more they will be embedded in your memory, and the easier they become overall. Don't worry about where you are today- just find ways to make each pose comfortable and one day the full variations will be accessible. Trust me on this one. Have faith :)
