Can I beat Pokemon using HUMANS in battle?

Wanted to do a hardcore nuzlocke with an arbitrary encounter restriction. This is what I can up with. Rules for the challenge:

If a pokemon faints, it has to be released.
I can only catch my first encounter on every route
No items in battle (except held items)
No overleveling the gym leader’s ace
And I will be playing on set mode.
