Predator 3500 Inverter Generator DIY wheels

The shaft arbors I used are Amazon number ASIN: B08695BLZ3 the 1/2 inch by 5/8 thick long version make sure you get long.

The wheels I used were Harbor Freight sku 47638.

I used 3M 5200 sealant around the wheel shafts, spacers and threaded locking pin. This should keep the vibrations from loosening anything.

If you want to use the plastic or solid rubber wheels you will need to the smaller diameter arbor extensions.

I did not reuse the lock as it vibrates so much in the original form and in the new wheels that it is louder than the generator. If I have to worry about the generator rolling away I can place the tow rope around one of the wheels.

These wheels do seem to make the generator sound smoother and you don’t feel as much vibrations.

I used two one 1 inch neodymium magnets JB welded to the bottom (outside) of the crankcase to pull any magnetic fibers to them. I then covered the magnets with 3M 5200 to prevent any oil or fuel from damaging the JB weld. While this is not as handy as a magnetite dip stick, I don’t trust them enough. Also, the magnets were 2 dollars and I had the JB weld. This is the same set up used on many transmissions and engines which create a lot more metal than this little engine with what I am assuming are a bunch of plastic gears anyway.
