Tried by the Athenians for failing to worship the correct gods and for corrupting the youth with his teachings, Socrates knew his time was coming to an end.

Rather than flee the city, Socrates asked his inner voice, his spirit to guide him. Socrates concluded that it was his time to stand with his shoulders back and leave the world on his own terms.
