Gao Jian used the participatory design concept to build a vibrant vegetable and flower garden on the bare open space of a school for migrant children. He also mobilizes residents to participate in the creation of a community garden, which is natural, low cost, and low maintenance. These cases demonstrated that everyone can get involved in constructing a sustainable living environment. Gao Jian, Master of Landscape Architecture, Peking University, Founder and Chief Designer of Gaiascape. Over the years, He has advocated for participatory and sustainable design concepts. He and Gaiascape provide public sustainable design education and offers opportunities for citizens to practice ecological actions. Through design life and landscape education, he cultivates a social atmosphere of a green lifestyle.
