Hunting ibex in Kolsay, Kazakhstan

Mountain hunting has always been considered elite leisure activity. Kazakhstan is probably one of the countries that is rich in wild natural places. Mountain regions of our country are abundant with wild animals, most of which are protected species and are included to the Red Book of endangered animals. Among hunting trophy animals there are large hoofed species such as the Siberian ibex and the red deer.
For members of international hunting trophy clubs hunting is not just a leisure activity, it is a sport. Achievements in this sport are measured by the size of the trophies. There is a special system of assessment created by Safari Club International. It is a large public organization that has united more than a million hunters from 75 countries. The hunters treat their favorite leisure activity very seriously, therefore the size of the trophy is an important factor that defines a position in the international ranking of different countries on the international arena.
For the sake of a good trophy, hunters cover large distances across seas and oceans.
Our hunting trip to the Almaty region started from a phone call from the United States. Our friend Larry Lawrence decided to visit Kazakhstan, but not to go sightseeing. He wanted to take part in a real mountain hunt.
