INDIA's STORY- The fact less told to its future | Venkat Matoory | TEDxGGDSDCollege

For unravelling its economic destiny, India has committed to the market model – by far the best economic model humanity came up with. How far can this path take us? Say we become 6-times of what we are today, the current economy of the same size today has an entire population that is smaller than India’s workforce. There is nothing unique about India that will afford us the privilege to use technologies less primitive. Willy-nilly, India’s market model too would have to grow with then current technologies; and if this means future technologies, it also means the new economy of the same size would call for even lesser manpower than what a USA or China did. In short, grown even six times, there is no credible resolution to creating enough complex jobs that can absorb the scale of graduates that India is already churning.
Is this the biggest elephant in the room? Did we remember to put on notice those who would effect this growth? What if we didn't?
