300 AAC Blackout for Home Defense? Maybe!

I've been looking for a good home defense long gun for my wife. She's not a shotgun lover, but she does like her AR15. The problem is that .556 and 223 Remington don't hit hard enough to put the bad guy down with any great authority. My 12 gauge will get the job done immediately, but my wife won't shoot it.
