Bodysurfing Legend Kalani Lattanzi and Big Waves - Just Another Day at the Wedge

Every day is an adventure at the Wedge in Newport Beach, California, but today was something special! Kalani was visiting the Wedge for the very first time and we were lucky enough to be there to capture the moment (if you don't know Kalani, look him up. He's bodysurfed Nazare and has an amazing movie named Gift From Heaven). The waves weren't perfect, but they were big and powerful and we witnessed Kalani dominate Mother Nature (all his videos are in the beginning). We also had a pretty solid Lifeguard boat rescue for a young lady who thought it would be a good idea to paddle out in big Wedge without fins....big mistake (this footage has been removed from the video at the request of the person that was rescued)! We've had some significant injuries at the Wedge this year to some of the best watermen, so please don't ever think you're stronger than the Wedge because she'll chew you up and spit you out! Fortunately, the guards acted quickly, overcame the refusal to get rescued, and got the person back to the beach to friends. Oh ya, we also had a pretty solid swell which led to a couple hairy drops and a couple classic Wedge wipeouts.
