Briton who Fought ISIS as a Volunteer Soldier: "Shamima Begum Must Not Return to UK"

In December 2014, Macer Gifford left the UK to join Kurdish forces in Syria. For three long years the human rights campaigner fought against ISIS as a volunteer. Of Islamic State jihadist Shamima Begum who wishes to return to the UK, he states: "Yes, she went out to Syria at 15. Her first interview on leaving the so-called Islamic State was her most candid. She talked of ‘heads in bins’, daily executions, she rationalised ISIS murder, particularly the brutal deaths of the captured journalists. She made it clear that she only left ISIS territory because she was compelled too.

"After she was found in Syria, and as the weeks progressed, she was able to speak to her family and lawyers in the UK. No doubt this was what brought on a sudden change of attitude, her liberty and indeed her passport depended on what she said.

"The black Burka was discarded, suddenly a Union Jack pillow found itself strategically placed in her room whenever she gave an interview. There was no more talk of death, no more public declarations of support for death cult, instead she talked longingly for her family

"Her self obsessed, self pitying interviews are nauseating. Particularly when she talks of her ‘human rights’ and how few people in Britain understood what she’d been through’ in Syria. There was no sign of utter horror at the barbarity of ISIS, grief for the raped Yazidi girls or the murder of thosands of innocent people.

"What the left needs to realise is, you may think you're standing up for worthwhile goals like racism and equality but you are being a useful idiot to very bad people, with very sinister goals.

"When I came home from Syria, I wrote a book called ‘Fighting Evil’. That's exactly what I faced in Syria. And if we, as a country, allowed Shamima Begum and indeed all the Jihadists back into our country. Evil is exactly what we’ll be inviting in."
