News first broke in October 2014 that Warner Brothers would contract Ben Affleck to co-write and direct a solo Batman movie reprising his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in a continuation of the DC Extended Universe.
Joe Manganiello would co-star as Deathstroke with a rebooted Bat-Girl, plus Jared Leto expressed interest in reprising his role as the Joker from Suicide Squad.

The plot would see Deathstroke wreak murderous havoc in Bruce Wayne's life in a personal revenge mission. The proposed story would see a backdrop of Arkham Asylum, The League of Assassins, the death of Robin explored, a rogues' gallery of Batman's arch-villains and an introduction to Bat-Girl.
