Best Sub-£200 Budget Smartphones (Spring 2020)

Reviews of the best budget mobile phones you can buy in 2020, for under £200 here in the UK. Smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola and Huawei/Honor offer some fantastic devices for that cheap asking price, and here's my favourites, all tested and rated.

The Realme 5 family are definitely among the most impressive budget phones in 2020, from the 5000mAh original to the Pro version. This offers a Full HD display and upgraded 48MP camera, plus stronger performance - although the battery has shrunk a bit.

Motorola has that 5000mAh cell matched with its Moto G7 Power, still a great cheap blower that's just £140 these days. I love the stock Android UI and smooth performance. Meanwhile Xiaomi's Redmi Note 8T also offers a lot for that affordable price, from the quad lens rear camera to the sleek glass design. I'm not a huge fan of MiUI, but you can always add your own launcher if you like.

Finally some alternative options are the Sony Xperia L3, Honor 10 Lite and Huawei P Smart 2019. All boasting similarly great specs for a cost that won't break your budget.
