What is the Radio Tax In Germany?
There is a public broadcasting fee in Germany that every household needs to pay. Student or Worker, Professional or Entrepreneur - it applies to everyone.
It’s called Rundfunkbeitrag and it’s to support independent public broadcasting.
Every house needs to pay €18,36 per month every three months and thus 4 times every year.(~€220 roughly)
If you don’t pay this fee, you will get into a shitload of trouble, from late payment fees to a series of bad SCHUFA score(which is the credit score in Germany) and even jail time.
