One Hour Dress

Join curators Summer Lee and Ellen Greene and event programmers Becca Carr and Kenna Libes for this video about the experience of creating a ‘One Hour Dress.’ Advertising a pattern that could be sewn in one hour was a common marketing tactic during both the 1920s and the 1960s, and we put two patterns to the test in this video as a friendly competition between seamstresses.

This video is being held in connection with the upcoming FIT Graduate Studies exhibition The Roaring Twenties and The Swinging Sixties, created in collaboration with the Museum at FIT, which can be found here: https://exhibitions.fitnyc.edu/roaring-20s-and-swinging-60s/
