Google Ads + Shopify Tutorial for Beginners in 2021
Get a step by step beginner Google Ads tutorial for your Shopify store in 2020 and 2021. While I specialize in dropshipping, this exact same setup can be used for any eCommerce business running on Shopify.
We will set up your Google ads account, your Google Merchant center account, create your first Google Shopping campaign, and set up Google conversion tracking so you can record which products received purchases. Btw it's not called adwords anymore.
If you're struggling vs Facebook ads and wondering what you should do when you get banned, disabled, or restricted... you should definitely try to get your account back first. But while you're waiting you can make some extra cash and passive income on the side by advertising your winning products on Google. You might even find a completely separate hot selling product to profit from.
Although Facebook ads have been overall more profitable for me due to being able to scale to high sales numbers very quickly with a viral product, I am seeing a better ROI ratio from Google on low budgets.
Also with Google ads, it's easier to also advertise high ticket products. Facebook definitely works best with impulse purchases which are more likely to happen with lower ticket products. But because people are already searching for high ticket items like canoes, solar panels, and a 200-foot snowman decoration, they already expect to pay a lot ahead of time.
While this video is only a beginner setup tutorial and I didn't go over some advanced strategies, I'll share some with you now because you're smart and reading this description. Comment below saying "no bs here" to show me that you've read this far.
When I first got introduced to Google ads in 2018, the strategy was to upload a massive amount of products on a General store. Some of them may have already been winners from Facebook ads.
Guess what?
It worked. I made money immediately.
Actually, I would make a good $200-300 per day in profit with very little ad spend. Not bad right?
Well shortly after, I decided to focus all my energy instead on Facebook because I was making $1,000+ per day in profit there.
Fast forward to this year in 2020, there's a new Google ads strategy going around to start a niche store. Not a broad, evergreen niche like I like... But instead, a super targeted niche that only has around 5 products. Then we're supposed to create some really insane landing page that looked like a Clickfunnels lander, which is made from GemPages, Shogun, Zipify, Pagefly, or a similar app.
Is this a bad strategy?
Maybe not.
But it just didn't work out for me after trying several times and losing thousands of dollars on it.
I was surprised that the strategy going around was to also include lying about our product showing that it has thousands of likes (which are from another page but cropped to make it seem like we own them). And also putting a fake "as seen on" like your product was featured on USA Today, but in reality, it wasn't. I just did not feel comfortable doing this and thought it was unethical to lie to my audience on my landing page.
Then I talked to some friends doing Google ads and every single person I talked to who used this strategy also failed with it.
But then I got in contact with someone who was successful with Google ads. Someone who was doing 4-5 figure days consistently.
And what was their strategy? Instead of focusing on going super hard on the landers with only a few products, they are shifting more focus into testing a bunch of products on a general store, sacrificing creating a special landing page for each that takes 4 hours to build. This is the same strategy I use to make an actual profit with Google. And it's a very similar strategy I use when it comes to Facebook ads.
