Just a quickish video about an aluminium metal case for the GoPro Hero 8 Black. Or for you guys in the States a GoPro Hero 8 aluminum case.

This is the first GoPro Hero 8 metal case that I could find on Amazon and considering that there's no choice and this was the only one at the time, it's actually probably the only one that I'll need. It really is very good and cheap.

All the ports, buttons and holes for the Hero 8 are easily accessible with this alloy case. The main access for me, for vlogging, is the side door to get at the USB C port, battery and SD card and this case is perfect for that.

The two shoe mounts are great, this means that you can attach typical camera cold shoe peripherals, you can also attach hot shoe peripherals although they wont be supplied power but can at least be mounted.

These shoe adapters are going to be great for mounting microphones such as the Rode VideoMicro and VideoMic Pro+

I'll be putting together a vlogging rig for the GoPro Hero 8 using the older GoPro pro 3.5mm mic adapter, as there will be a bit of time before GoPro release the Media Mod with its 3.5mm mic interface for external vlogging mics. For this makeshift GoPro Hero8 Vlogging rig I'll be using this aluminium case with a few other bits to mount the mic adapter to. Check back over the next few days to see how I get on with that vlogging rig and I'll be doing a bunch of vlogging microphone examples soon after that.

All in all this is a great little case, it feels solid and should give some good protection to the Hero8 and best of all it is very cheap.
