Youtube changed his life - Rob Parsons - Chairslayer
@chairslayer
I did a video awhile back like this about my buddy Hert @hertlife from Hoonigan. I find it so interesting that I know a lot of these people from before they got super famous, and you can see the transformation that happened to them, and how much it affected their life. Youtube has become an amazing force of building up individuals and empowering them within our drift community over the past decade, much like Option Video created iconic characters such as Nomuken and the Drift King decades ago. Except this time around, we control the power and can do it ourselves. It is also interesting to watch this happen to certain drifters I know because most of the famous youtube drifters at the moment were popular on youtube BEFORE they started drifting, and used the platform to move INTO drifting. Hert and Chairslayer used youtube as drifters to expand what they already loved. Not many drifters have successfully transitioned into created entertaining media and sustained that model to their advantage. I should have chatted about that in the interview, but it was unplanned and I always just chat about whatever is on the top of my head as I go.
Huge shout out to Chairslayer for taking some time and chatting with me so I could present the audience with this fun little piece. I really dig what you have been doing for the drift community, and how you have been advancing your own education within the space of the automotive industry and applying yourself. I really applaud the amount of effort Chairslayer puts into everything he does! I have a hard enough keeping my Corvette or other drift cars running, and Chairslayer is keeping a super charged LS1 V8 S13 going with so much more effort than it would take me. Amazing.
