Orthodontic Appliances Explained | Elastics
During your orthodontic treatment, you may also need to use other orthodontic appliances along with your braces. Elastics, also known as inter-arch rubber bands, have a different purpose than the wires that straighten your teeth. Elastics are used during the bite alignment stage of your orthodontic treatment. The elastics apply pressure to the teeth to correct the bite.
