John Deere 9800i | A new monster in town | Maize 2018 | *Sound*

Back in 2014 John Deere launched the all-new 8000-series self propelled forage harvesters and we were there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3Wxwufev5M. Along the 'small' range two bigger models were introduced: the 8700 & 8800. Now it is time for a serious horsepower upgrade! There is a new monster in town. The new 9000-series (9700, 9800, 9900) nearly touch the 1.000 HP mark coming from an impressive Liebherr V12 engine. We see the 9800i (870 HP) in action during its launch in The Netherlands.

The 9800i is fitted with the 490Plus Kemper header which has a working width of 9m corresponding to 12 rows of maize. Dutch contractor Dekker from Putten is testing the machine and uses a fleet of John Deere tractors to keep up with the monstrous appetite of this machine!
