Epson 5050UB vs BenQ HT5550 | Out-of-the-Box 4K Projector Shootout!

This video demonstrates the capabilities out-of-the-box of the Epson 5050UB and the BenQHT5550. Both are fantastic "4K" HDR projectors and the bottom line is that buyers are going to really enjoy each of them with their own unique strengths. My personal bottom line is that for sports and gaming I prefer the Epson and for 4K HDR and SDR movies I prefer the BenQ. But you can't go wrong with either!

I have found settings that make both projectors look even better! In the video I refer to the Epson 5050UB as having plenty of pop and brightness, but a bit oversaturated in it's factory picture modes. Fellow AVSForum member, Alaric, has posted these fantastic settings for the Epson 5050UB that really help to create an even more natural picture quality. He also shared his settings for the HT5550 that really helped to find the best balance of brightness, color, and contrast. In Color Temperature menu: Red gain: 101, Green gain: 99, Blue gain: 103, Red offset: 246, Green offset: 256, Blue offset 265, Brightness 45, Contrast: 55
