School art project - making a Banksy style stencil

This is a short video I made to demonstrate the project we are doing in our Middle School art room.

We'll make stencils of champions of social justice and spray those on mixed media paper.

Because I was an airbrush artist prior to teaching art, I will bring my airbrush to school for this, but you can easily also use acrylic paints and brushes or small foam rollers for this.

Cutting out the stencil is far easier with Xacto knives, but not every school is comfortable with kids using those, so for this example I used round tip kids scissors to prove you can still do it with those too.

The stencils we are making are of Malala, Martin Luther King, Frida Kahlo, Frederick Douglass and Anne Frank.
