Rev. Barber: Manchin Blocking Biden Build Back Better Plan Is 'Form Of Systemic Racism & Classism'

On Tuesday, Rev. William Barber, II joined Roland Martin on #RMU to discuss the political and socio-economic issues that continue to leave millions of poor and low-income Americans from being able to lift themselves above the poverty line.

During their chat, Rev. Barber made mention of Sen. Joe Manchin standing in the way of of President Joe Biden's Build Back Better Plan.

Barber explained the Manchin's opposition to the plan is "a form of systemic racism and and a form of classism."

Rev. Barber also reminded viewers that the number of poor and low-income Americans who have checked out of the political process can flip elections in the favor of what is morally right in a number of states.

Barber went on to explain that this group of untapped political power remains dormant because Democrats fail to put a face on those marginalized Americans and their stories of survival are lost in the numbers as well as statistics politicians spew in their rhetorical debates in Congress.
