☆ I took a short hiatus to hike into the mountains, and filmed this along the way ☆

There’s nothing as soothing to the soul as spending a week in the woods.

Time falls away. There are no worries, no troubles. There’s no to do lists to finish, no emails to respond to, or social media updates to check.

It’s you, and the earth, and the wildflowers, and the mountains.

It’s waking up to see the first rays of sun peeking through the leaves. Feeling the stillness of the forest and the freshness of the air and everything is right.

It’s sitting around a fire at the end of the day, sharing stories and laughter and gazing up at the dark, starry blanket covering the trees.

It is the moment. It is happiness.

How can you not fall in love with all the ways the birds sing and the gentleness of the river and that feeling of standing on top of a mountain seeing how far your legs have brought you, and how far you could keep roaming.

A great wanderer once said,
“Thousands of tired, nerve shaken, over civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity” (John Muir)
