Kansas Wheat Harvest 2010 - 9770 Bullet Rotor

I met another accomodating farmer today who helped me get some great video footage of his nice 9770 Deere. L.H. Brown was cutting wheat on an irrigated circle just east of Kismet, Kansas. When he pulled out of the field to unload onto a truck, I asked if he'd mind if I got some video. He was very hospitable and I spent the next hour with him learning the amazing capabilities of his combine.

Agriculture has not shunned technology, nor has it been left behind. This combine has a GPS system that will calculate crop yield and even drive the combine for you. I can also tell you the moisture content of the crop so you know immediately whether or not you can harvest. The GPS system can also map yields to a particular field so you can adjust fertilizer rates in areas that yield less than others. The gps system can also be transferred to other John Deere equipment for planting and fertilizing operations.
The 36' draper header uses a rubber conveyor system that replaces a rotating "screw" auger used in smaller headers. It ensures a smooth even feed of the crop material to the combine.

Inside the combine was cool and comfortable with the operators platform and joystick master control mounted together on a suspension system for a smooth ride. It's a fantastic machine that will harvest 160 acres a day or more on it's own.
