6th Street Bridge East LA California

East Los Angeles' 6 St. Bridge built in 1932, a few miles from where I work, is a viaduct crossing the LA river scheduled for demolition to begin January 2016. The concrete used in it's construction had a too high alkali content, so the concrete has been cracking over it's lifespan. (D'oh!) There is a tunnel under the bridge that leads down to the LA river. The tunnel has always been open, and I've always wanted to drive in there, but it was too creepy! Well now it's become a gathering place with people taking pictures, videos and drone videos and having picnics and tailgate parties to get some shots before it's demise. You'll recognize the area from many films, music videos, and TV shows.
