Moment Azov fighter ambushes Russian BMP in Mariupol, Ukraine

Footage posted on April 8 by the Azov Battalion shows a soldier firing on a vehicle in the besieged city of Mariupol.

It was filmed near a church in the eastern part of Mariupol.

The Azov Battalion, which makes up a significant proportion of the Ukrainian military defending the area, continues to engage Russian forces in the city, located along the Sea of Azov in southern Ukraine.

The battalion was incorporated into Ukraine's National Guards to support their fight against Russia.

On April 6, after several furtive attempts to reach Mariupol, the Red Cross said that some 1,000 evacuees from Mariupol had arrived in Zaporizhzhia after first escaping to Berdyansk.
