EXPOSED: The Hidden BEEF Of The All Star Game
The All Star Game had a great ending once again, with Lebron scoring the game winning bucket, and Steph Curry had one of the wildest shooting nights that I’ve ever seen.
Dude fired away from the logo and turned around knowing that it would go in. That is insane.
16 threes on 59% shooting. That’s goat shooting right there.
And It was all love and hugs and smiles. At least for the most part.
However, here are a few hidden beefs that you may have missed. But ya boi didn’t. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
Let’s start off with Michael. He bearhugged Luka, and had some goat talk with Lebron, buuut apparently Jordan still hasn’t forgiven his former great friend Charles Barkley. Chuck criticized MJ for some of the decisions he made back when he was with the Wizards, and MJ as you can probably imagine took it personally.
They went from hanging out all the time to literally not speaking for about 7-8 years at this point.
And you would think that the ceremony for the top 75 NBA players ever would be a great occasion for them to congratulate each other and pick things up on a high note, but as you can see we got this awkward situation where Michael shakes hands with everyone except Chuck.
Kenny has said multiple times that he will bring them together (Kenny Clip) but I think he needs to do a better job at it.
Next, we saw that the vitriol between KG and Paul Pierce towards Ray Allen is still there.
They were conveniently placed right next to Lebron James, so when Ray Ray walked there and dapped up Lebron, Garnett delivered one of his signature evil stares.
Allen, for his part, didn’t even acknowledge it, swiftly walking past them- as he probably learned from his mistakes in the past when he did try to bury the hatchet but was left hanging by the big ticket.
Draymond Green likes to throw shade at Rudy Gobert from time to time. He did it back when Rudy got emotional about not being selected for the all star a few years ago.
And he reminded us of that again this year.
So at the actual game, Draymond had the mic on the sidelines along with the TNT crew and they compared Draymond to other great defensive players like Dikembe Mutombo and Gobert himself.
And Green did not appreciate that at all.
If you’re a bit confused as to why the hate, let me just point out that Rudy has 3 defensive player of the year awards and Draymond has only been selected once for this award, so you get the idea that it’s sort of a rivalry.
And we’re done with all the beefs, but one other thing that you may have missed during all of the all star festivities, and it’s a big deal is the announcement about Chris Paul missing the next 6-8 weeks of basketball due to a thumb injury. He did play last night but only a few ceremonial minutes.
This is a massive blow, and could have a huge impact on the western conference.
Devin Booker expressed confidence that they will be OK without their leader, but that remains to be seen on the court.
The NBA continues on Thursday, and until then, I’ll try to bridge the gap with some fun videos on youtube. Signing off with the winning dunk in the dunk contest. Subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
